Mycology Outside: Mushroom as Teacher — Mycelial Wisdom for Grief, Healing, and Integration

I am honored to invite you to Mycology Outside, an inspiring outdoor gathering hosted in partnership with North Spore. North Spore and I both live and work in Portland, Maine, where the personal use of natural psychedelics like mushrooms has been deprioritized by local authorities. Together, we are creating space for meaningful education, connection, and respectful engagement with these sacred fungi, rooted in a place that supports personal exploration.

In my session, Mushroom as Teacher: Mycelial Wisdom for Grief, Healing, and Integration, we will come together in the forest to slow down, connect with the land, and practice mindful presence. We will attune to the living mycelial web beneath our feet and reflect on how this hidden network mirrors our own inner processes of grief, resilience, and regeneration. The wisdom of the mushrooms invites us to remember the interconnection of all things, and to honor the sacredness of life through the ongoing integration of our realizations about how to show up in a good way as stewards of love.

Throughout this offering, I will share stories from my own healing path with psilocybin mushrooms, including recovery from PTSD, and from my experience guiding hundreds of intentional ceremonies. Together, we will explore how mushrooms can serve as sacred allies in rites of passage that reconnect us with self, community, and spirit.
